Joseph Stunja - Founder Principal

Mr. Stunja is the Founder and Managing Partner of Stunja & Company and is a dynamic Real Estate, Finance, and Technology professional with over 12 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate, Finance and Technology. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong ability to fully leverage technology, building robust financial planning, investment, and portfolio reporting models for real estate portfolio managers, investment management groups, private equity firms, and corporate finance teams.


Joe is passionate about leveraging technology solutions to optimize and automate business processes with the focus of driving shareholder value by successfully designing and implementing multi-dimensional financial modeling solutions that allow businesses to forecast, manage, and scale efficiently while ensuring accuracy. 


Prior to his current role, Joe held a Senior Manager position at DigitalBridge (formerly Colony Capital), a publicly traded international real estate investment trust with $50 Billion in AUM. There, he developed analytical models for internal and external reporting, significantly streamlining processes through automation.


Before his time at DigitalBridge, Joe served as a Senior Consultant at NOI Strategies, a division of CohnReznick. Here, he was instrumental in building asset and portfolio analytical models for Global Investment Managers with an extensive asset and investment vehicle portfolio. 


Earlier in his career, Joe was a Senior Acquisitions Analyst, at Sterling Equities, the family office of Fred Wilpon, the former owner of the New York Mets, where he excelled in analyzing complex real estate investments, creating comprehensive presentations for investors, and managing underwriting and due diligence for new acquisitions.


Joe's expertise in real estate valuation was honed during his time as a Valuation Associate at CBRE, where he evaluated a diverse range of properties: office, multifamily, industrial, self storage, land and development sites, including high-profile landmarks and world renowned properties. He learned and applied advanced modeling techniques to all ownership types and structures to assess tax benefits programs.


Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from The Pennsylvania State University's Smeal College of Business. He is also an active Advisory Board member for the Institute for Real Estate of Penn State University providing career coaching and mentoring to students of the Smeal College of Business. Joe was previously a Chapter Vice President with the Smeal Club of New York.
